The relay will begin at Wichita High School East in Wichita, Kansas and continue slightly northeast up to Lawrence and then through Kansas City. The next major city on the course is Springfield. After Springfield, the runners will take a day of rest in Indianapolis before hitting the road again through Dayton and Columbus. They will then skim through West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia before ending in Washington D.C.
