Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How old are you guys?
A: The oldest of us is 20 years old while the youngest is 18. We range from rising freshman in college to rising juniors.

Q: Did you really run 1,300 miles?
A: Yes! The 9 runners from the 2008 team each ran 13 miles per day to cover over 100 miles each day. This system allowed us to reach D.C. in approximately two weeks.

Q: Is there anyway for me to get in contact with the members of the team?
A: Sure! We’d love to hear from you. You can find all of our email addresses on the Contact Us page. Just send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Q: Would you be willing to speak at my school/club/conference/etc.?
A: We have made it a practice to never turn down an opportunity to speak. Although we have had to on occasion, it hurts us to do so. We are happy to assemble a part of the team to speak anywhere in the Wichita area for free. However, should you wish to have us speak a substantial distance away from Wichita, we kindly request that you cover any travel and lodging expenses. If you wish to book us, please send an email to Matthew Heck through the form on Contact Us.

Q: I heard you plan to do the relay again in 2010. Is this true?
A: Yes, it is completely true! We officially announced our intentions to run the Never Ignore, Never Forget relay in 2010 at the NEA Human and Civil Rights Award Dinner. We plan to start the relay in San Francisco and end in Washington D.C. This is approximately 3,100 miles.
