Never Ignore, Never Forget
Welcome to the official website of the Never Ignore, Never Forget cross country relay. The relay is an initiative of nine students from the Wichita, KS area committed to ending genocide. Starting on June 2, 2008, the relay team left Wichita, KS on a 1,300-mile course to Washington D.C. Averaging over 100 miles daily, the team reached the Capitol City after two weeks on the road.
Entitled Never Ignore, Never Forget, the team set two goals for their run: (1) never ignore ongoing genocides and (2) never forget past genocides. We believe these two ideals are important in any effort to save human lives. How can we possibly ignore the genocides in Darfur, Burma, and the Democratic Republic of Congo? How can we possibly forget the Holocaust, the Armenian genocide, or the Rwanda genocide? We can’t.
To date, we have raised over $25,000 from private donors. If you feel our cause is worthwhile and would like to support us, please donate to us or buy a t-shirt. The money raised from this unique event will go to the Genocide Intervention Network’s civilian protection program.
